I am bringing you back through a stage I went through some time ago because many believe they have to be a master at recruiting or inviting or any other stage of their network marketing career. That couldn’t be further from the truth! If we think we have to be perfect we will never ever get started. For me it was about making videos, and I can say I am definitely still not at a place of what I would call perfection. I do know that the more we go out and take action the better we feel. Take one skill at a time, learn about it and then put it into action, just as I did more than a year ago in this video.

Do you remember that TV show
“Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”

I used to watch it when Regis Philbin was the host.

To tell you the truth, I don’t even know if the show on the air any more because I don’t watch much TV these days.

What I did get from it!

But the one thing I remember was that the contestants could “Phone-A-Friend” if they were really stumped on a question.

They could only call one friend, but hey, at least they had a chance….

It’s a brilliant twist on what could otherwise have been just another trivia show with limited appeal, and sweaty contestants who look like their brains are going to explode, or their eyes pop out any second…

But it’s also a strategy that we could use to build our businesses too…

So What, What do I mean? Here’s what I mean…

I mean, how many times have you been stuck, maybe with new technology, finding new people to enroll, or even just sheer emotional frustration of it all…

But you just suffered through it all by yourself…

Sure, you “figured things out” eventually…

Or you quit? Hmm, what happened to your dream?

But why didn’t you “Phone-A-Friend” and save yourself the pain?

If you feel stuck like a “stick in the mud” and you don’t know what to do…

It’s kinda silly to sit there and re-invent the wheel…

Why don’t we call, Why don’t we reach out?

But I know we’ve all done that before… (Maybe it’s our pride?)

Maybe we don’t want to admit we need help?

Maybe we are afraid we are going to be ridiculed?

Maybe we think that someone will think our goals and dreams are unrealistic? Or unattainable?

What if you changed that?

I think next time, I’m going to phone a friend…

And I hope you do too…

So here is what I would do If I were you…I would learn from someone who already has the success in MLM Network Marketing that you want! (actually I have, that is why I recommend it) I downloaded a e-book! Oh yes everyone has an e-book, that’s true, not this one, because most of them are just a veiled advertising message. This one is going to answer the questions in your mind! (I can read your mind) You want to know how to create the success in Network Marketing that you believe you can have, but you just haven’t found the what and how!

So who is your Phone-A-Friend? Do you want one? Its easy pick up the phone!

I know this sounds a bit “airy fairy” but I guarantee that you are already talking to yourself in a negative way! What you say is affirming everything you are already living. The big challenge is to start to say and take action on what you want and not what you don’t want

Don’t be a “Party Pooper!”

Many people start throwing up all kinds of objections and problems for themselves even before they actually have happened. Its the perception that we have of our present. Remember many of the things that are happening presently are actually reaping the benefits or the results of past thoughts and actions. How can you change that?

How do I create a better environment?

When it comes to business, are we actually figuring out who we want to focus on? Where do they often gather? Try turning your objections into advantages. What is great about this? – instead of Why is this happening to me? Sometimes if we actually look at it we may be able to gain some great new perceptions about things that are happening in our life. And, sometimes it means to be willing to “clean out some of our closets.” In other words, being willing to give up some things that don’t serve us anymore.

Being willing to be uncomfortable!

Many people are afraid about being uncomfortable. But make sure you understand that anything new is going to be uncomfortable! There is a period of learning. We have to be willing to be in that state of uncomfortable in order to let ourselves learn what it takes to reach that level of competence. Remember the first day you got behind a wheel of a car, were you competent? No you were not. My mom used to accuse me of taking “square corners!” The key thing is that I didn’t stay in that level of uncompetence. I continued to practice and learn, and now when I get into my car, I don’t have to think about it.

Business and Personal Growth in anything is all about new habits!

Anything you are now doing with confidence started out as something you had to learn about. That is actually everything. We never even talked or walked, and if you think about it you now have hundreds, maybe even thousands of skills today because you went through a learning process. So lets go from Party Pooper to confident Entrepreneur by being willing to be uncomfortable and being in a learning mode.

Orin Woodward says there are three things we want to be: Hungry, Honable and Honorable.

These are all subjects in themselves, but briefly to be hungry means to be willing to learn and willing to be uncomfortable. That makes us go out and seek what is necessary to get where we want to be. We want more than where we are presently.

Honable, means to be willing to let our mentors, those we trust to help us mold ourselves to who we want to be. We can model the successful person we want to be. We are willing to trust. This is big, our society is very low in trust. In a book I am reading, “The Speed of Trust, by S Covey, when trust is low, business slows way down, it is bogged down because of lack of trust, no one get anything done, it all goes through a process and a contest.

And last honorable. Many people I am afraid, don’t even know what that word means. It is not a word of convenience. It means that you will do what you say. It may mean that you have to do something uncomfortable. If you believe that a “little cheat” is okay, then you are not being honorable. The most important thing to get here is, that this also will break down trust. So here is the bottom line, we want to be earning a good living and fulfilling our dreams, and in order to do that we have to change how we look at things. I gave you a lot to think about!

“Faith activates God – Fear activates the Enemy.” Joel Osteen

One of my new favorite books is “Its Your Time” by Joel Osteen. In the first chapter he tells us about this man who had this painting on his wall. The painting had this beat up boat on the shore with the ores out of the boat. On the same caption, it read the tide always comes back. Sometimes that is how people feel, when they feel like everything they have tried has just left them “marooned, on a strange shore.” But just like that caption relates, we must believe that help is on the way. If we are willing to keep on with the faith and hope.

And if you have lost hope then “Get your hopes up. Raise your expectations. Your best days are in front of you. This is exactly the moment to put your faith into action and expect God’s blessings. It’s your time to declare your faith, to look for God’s favor, and to give control of your life to Him so that you can find fulfillment in His plans for you! It’s Your Time to believe.In It’s Your Time!”

“Whether you are going through a difficult time or looking for ways to increase in God’s favor and soar to new heights of fulfillment, this book will provide bold new prayers, inspiring stories, and practical tools to help you move forward in faith and realize your dreams. The most difficult part about faith is that its not faith, if you have to wait for something to happen before you will believe. Faith is a “belief in things that are not yet evident.” It starts with your faith in yourself, and if you haven’t yet found that, then lean on the faith of your mentor. If you do not have a mentor with faith in you, borrow me, I believe in you!

“Get up each day thinking that this is the day I am going to achieve my dreams; I am a prisoner of hope; As for me and my house we are going to serve the Lord God; The Creator of the universe is in control of my life; God works in mysterious ways; God has all kinds of ways to make your dreams come to pass; The tide always comes back, speaking faith and believing that the desires of your heart are going to materialize into your life!”

How Big Is A Dream?

Imagination is in the individual, and no one else can judge it! If we look at Edison or any of the great inventors, what we see now as a light bulb, took an incredible amount of imagination to bring about!

Everybody knows that just getting enough money to pay bills is not very motivating! But so many people I talk to say that is the main reason that they are in network marketing.

Jordan Adler calls it desk money – barely enough to survive.

But you were meant for more than that!

I spoke yesterday with someone who believed he was not successful because he wasn’t making as much money as others think he should be making. But we are only as successful as we think we are and money is only one of the measurements.

Think today about how to enlarge your vision, allow yourself to dream! I don’t mean practical dreams, but the dreams like those of children. And your dreams are unique, they are not the construction of anyone else but you!

How do children dream?

They don’t put any boundaries on their dreams. If they want a purple horse, they say that’s what they want! They don’t color in the lines.  It is only when we become adults and we decide we have to be practical, that we loose the ability to dream.

So today when you work think beyond those things you have to do. What are your Why to’s? Are they bigger than the Why not’s?

If not then I challenge you today to start today coloring outside the lines!

Make it bold make it colorful make it real!

Wow, she’s really a cool person. I feel good around her, she brings me up!

Didn’t Napoleon Hill say something about brains being transmitters and receivers? Jim is constantly depressed. He always believes that nothing will ever work for him. He’s a nice enough guy, but he can kill a party just by stopping by. Now Rebecca, on the other hand is always so upbeat. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her fail at anything. People love just hanging out with her.

People pick up on that. They’re both broadcasting what’s going on inside. Rebecca’s playing really great tunes, but Jim is broadcasting 24-hour dirge songs.
I wonder if I can do that? Let’s try my self talk. “ “I am creating my success everyday by my thoughts, and actions!”

I get it. Napoleon Hill was right. Thoughts charged with strong emotion get broadcast and other minds can pick up on them. Negative charged broadcast tend to put people off. Positive charged thoughts sent have the opposite effect.

I’ll bet you have heard or read it in your life..

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my Country
And obey the Scout Law
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
Mentally awake, and morally straight.

I think this is a good model for a network marketer, too. Think about it, and take each of those phrases separately, and think about the success you may have if you apply them!

On my honor I will do my best

I will do my best with honor at all times. I will represent my company with honor and honesty. I will follow the rules, I will consider what it is I do, I will not look for the easy way but realize that it require time work and integrity on my part.

To do my duty to God and my Country

What is our duty to God and my Country? We do not do justice to either if our only focus is to see how we can cut corners and push our way through life. If God were our guest for a week what would he see. Would we be happy to show him around and let him be with us as we go about our day? And our Country, (no matter what one it is) Is where we are, we live there. Its not perfect but it is our home. Do we represent it well?

And obey the Scout Law

Do we look to obey our laws, whatever they are. Any where from traffic laws to business law. It is a fact that how we do anything is how we do everything. If we look to break even the small laws, what does that say about us?

To help other people at all times;

This is built into network marketing. If we are not willing to help people we can’t expect any rewards.

To keep myself physically strong,

We must be a product of our product, even if it is not health related. If we want people to believe what we are doing is good, we must look and feel good all of the time.

Mentally awake, and morally straight.

It is up to us to continually work on ourselves. It has been said that MLM Network marketing is a personal development program with a compensation plan attached! If you truly want your dreams and goals you are working to become better mentally, physically, spiritually, and morally!
